In the 2019 Sikkim Assembly elections, Raj Kumari Thapa of SDF won in this constituency beating Raj Kumar Basnet of SKM by a margin of 1,525 votes which was 13.27% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Pawan Chamling of SDF was the winner in this seat beating Bikash Basnet of SKM by a margin of 3,142 votes which was 31.62% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Chandra Bdr Karki of SDF won this seat defeating Avinash Yakha of INC by a margin of 3,197 votes which was 39.25% of the total votes polled for the seat.
