In the 2019 Sikkim Assembly elections, Farwanti Tamang of SDF won in this constituency beating Tilak Basnet of SKM by a margin of 865 votes which was 6.84% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Tulshi Devi Rai of SDF was the winner in this seat beating Prem Bahadur Karki of SKM by a margin of 4,249 votes which was 37.37% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Tulshi Devi Rai of SDF won this seat defeating Dil Kri Chhetri of INC by a margin of 3,853 votes which was 41.22% of the total votes polled for the seat.
