In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, Richards Johnkumar of BJP won in this constituency beating V Cartigueyane of DMK by a margin of 496 votes which was 1.82% of the total votes cast. In 2016, A. Johnkumar of INC was the winner in this seat beating Omsakthi Sekar of AIADMK by a margin of 12141 votes which was 45.37% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Omsakthi Sekar of AIADMK won this seat defeating R.V.Janakiraman of DMK by a margin of 4518 votes which was 19.87% of the total votes polled for the seat.
