    In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Bhabani Shankar Bhoi of BJP won in this constituency beating Stephen Wilson Soreng of BJD by a margin of 16,188 votes which was 10.56% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Prafulla Majhi of INC was the winner in this seat beating Binaya Kumar Toppo of BJD by a margin of 1,438 votes which was 1.03% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Dr Prafulla Majhi of INC won this seat defeating Sahadev Xaxa of BJP by a margin of 19,741 votes which was 17.85% of the total votes polled for the seat.
