In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Dr Budhan Murmu of BJP won in this constituency beating Amar Singh Tudu of BJD by a margin of 6,813 votes which was 4.39% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Bhadav Hansdah of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Ramchandra Murmu of JMM by a margin of 3,839 votes which was 2.63% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Rama Chandra Hansdah of NCP won this seat defeating Ram Chandra Murmu of JMM by a margin of 14,590 votes which was 13.09% of the total votes polled for the seat.
