    In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Naba Charan Majhi of BJP won in this constituency beating Basanti Marndi of BJD by a margin of 2,847 votes which was 1.74% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Saiba Sushil Kumar Hansdah of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Droupadai Murmu of BJP by a margin of 15,556 votes which was 9.97% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Shyam Charan Hansdah of INC won this seat defeating Purna Chandra Marndi of JMM by a margin of 4,602 votes which was 4% of the total votes polled for the seat.
