In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Latika Pradhan of BJD won in this constituency beating Ranjan Polai of BJP by a margin of 49,028 votes which was 33.38% of the total votes cast. In 2014, V Sugnana Kumari Deo of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Hara Prasad Sahu of IND by a margin of 21,500 votes which was 16.22% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, V Sugnana Kumari Deo of BJD won this seat defeating Kishor Pallei of INC by a margin of 23,068 votes which was 22.68% of the total votes polled for the seat.
