In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Ganesh Ram Sing Khuntia of BJP won in this constituency beating Golakbihari Nayak of BJD by a margin of 8,552 votes which was 5.34% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Mangal Singh Mudi of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Shambhu Nath Naik of SUCI by a margin of 5,794 votes which was 3.79% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Kamala Kanta Nayak of BJD won this seat defeating Sambhunath Naik of IND by a margin of 13,190 votes which was 11.11% of the total votes polled for the seat.
