In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Ananta Narayan Jena of BJD won in this constituency beating Jagannath Pradahan of BJP by a margin of 11,442 votes which was 11.31% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Bijaya Kumar Mohanty of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Jagannath Pradhan of BJP by a margin of 22,389 votes which was 24% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bijaya Kumar Mohanty of BJD won this seat defeating Biswabhusan Harichandan of BJP by a margin of 34,985 votes which was 45.89% of the total votes polled for the seat.
