In 2014, Debaraj Mohanty of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Saroj Kumar Padhi of INC by a margin of 23,499 votes which was 21.69% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Debaraj Mohanty of BJD won this seat defeating Saroja Kumar Padhi of IND by a margin of 29,986 votes which was 34.02% of the total votes polled for the seat.
