Zoramthanga is the Mizo National Front candidate from Aizawl East-I (General) constituency in Aizawl district of Mizoram in the 2023 Assembly elections. Zoramthanga is the current chief minister of Mizoram as well as the chief of the Mizo National Front (MNF). He has been representing the Aizawl East-I assembly constituency in the Mizoram Assembly since 2018. Zoramthanga was also the Mizoram CM twice in the past from 1998 to 2008. He became an active member of the MNF during the time of the uprising and also joined the guerrilla movement. He was appointed as cabinet minister in the Laldenga ministry after the signing of the Mizoram Peace Accord.
