In the 2018 Mizoram Assembly elections, Er Lalrinawma of MNF won in this seat defeating Sangzela Tlau of INC by a margin of 1,397 which was 10.24% of the total votes cast for the seat. MNF had a vote share of 39.85% in 2018 in this seat.
In 2013, Er Lalrinawma of MNF emerged victorious in this seat beating K Lianzuala of INC by a margin of 14 votes which was 0.11% of the total votes polled in the constituency. MNF had a vote share of 35.53% in the seat.
In the 2008 elections, K Lianzuala of INC won this seat beating Vanlalhlana of MPC by a margin of 402 votes which was 3.47% of the total votes polled in the constituency. MPC had a vote share of 36.81% in the seat.

Tuikum comprises of the following areas of Serchhip district in the North region of Mizoram: Wd No 5 Chhiahtlang in Serchhip (Notified Town), and Villages lungpho, Chhingchhip, Khawbel, Hmuntha, Rullam, Thentlang, Ngentiang, Sialhau, e Thinglian and Vanchengte in Serchhip R D Block; and Villages Baktawng, Buhkangkawn, Chanin, Hmawngkawn, Khumtung and Hualtu in Thingsulthliah R D Block; and Tlungvel, Darlawng, and Phulmawi in Thingsulthliah R D Block of District Aizawl.
