This constituency covers an approximate area of 1801.91 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 19°51'49.3"N 73°12'28.8"E.

A total of six Assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra share borders with Vikramgad constituency, which are: Dahanu, Palghar, Boisar, Bhiwandi Rural, Shahapur, Igatpuri. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Valsad district of Gujarat.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Bhusara Sunil Chandrakant of NCP won in this constituency beating Dr Hemant Vishnu Savara of BJP by a margin of 21,359 votes which was 11.68% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Savara Vishnu Rama of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Prakash Krushna Nikam of SS by a margin of 3,845 votes which was 2.32% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Adv Chintaman Wanga of BJP won this seat defeating Chandrakant Ravji Bhusara of NCP by a margin of 5,032 votes which was 3.41% of the total votes polled for the seat.
