This constituency covers an approximate area of 1042.26 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 21°23'01.7"N 80°00'49.0"E.

A total of four Assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra share borders with Tirora constituency, which are: Tumsar, Gondiya, Arjuni-Morgaon, Sakoli. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Vijay Bharatlal Rahangdale of BJP won in this constituency beating Bopche Ravikant Alias Guddu Khushal of NCP by a margin of 25,560 votes which was 15.10% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Rahangdale Vijay Bharatlal of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Bansod Dilip Waman of IND by a margin of 13,098 votes which was 7.79% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bopache Khushal Parasram of BJP won this seat defeating Rahangdale Sushilkumar Sukhadev of NCP by a margin of 623 votes which was 0.43% of the total votes polled for the seat.
