A total of three Assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra share borders with Ramtek constituency, which are: Savner, Kamthi, Tumsar,. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Chhindwara, Seoni and Balaghat districts of Madhya Pradesh.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Ashish Nandkishor Jaiswal (Vakil) of IND won in this constituency beating Dwaram Mallikarjun Reddy of BJP by a margin of 24,433 votes which was 13.24% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Reddy Dwaram Mallikarjun Ramreddy of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Ashish Nandkishore Jaiswal (Vakil) of SS by a margin of 12,081 votes which was 7.11% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Ashish Nandkishore Jaiswal (Wakil) of SS won this seat defeating Mohite Subodh Baburao of INC by a margin of 3,361 votes which was 2.18% of the total votes polled for the seat.
