This constituency covers an approximate area of 1509.7 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 17°28'01.6"N 75°25'36.5"E.

A total of five Assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra share borders with Pandharpur constituency, which are: Sangole, Madha, Mohol, Solapur South, Jat. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Vijayapura district of Karnataka.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Bhalake Bharat Tukaram of NCP won in this constituency beating Paricharak Sudhakar Ramchandra of BJP by a margin of 13,568 votes which was 05.66% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Bhalake Bharat Tukaram of INC was the winner in this seat beating Paricharak Shailendra Alias Prashant Prabhakar of SWP by a margin of 8,913 votes which was 3.88% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bhalke Bharat Tukaram of SWP won this seat defeating Mohite Patil Vijaysinh Shankarrao of NCP by a margin of 37,363 votes which was 19.78% of the total votes polled for the seat.
