In 2014, Shaikh Aasif Shaikh Rashid of INC was the winner in this seat beating Mufti Moh Ismile Kasmi of NCP by a margin of 16,151 votes which was 9.65% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Mufti Mohamad Ismail A Khalique of JSS won this seat defeating Shaikh Rasheed Haji Shaikh Shafi of INC by a margin of 17,919 votes which was 11.84% of the total votes polled for the seat.
