Hinganghat comprises of the following areas of Wardha district in the Vidharbha region of Maharashtra: Samudrapur Tehsil, Seloo Tehsil (Part), Revenue Circle-Sindi and Sindi (MC), Hinganghat Tehsil (Part) Revenue Circle –Sawali, Wadner, Pohana, Hinganghat and Hinganghat (MC).

This constituency covers an approximate area of 1729.68 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 20°34'07.3"N 78°55'14.9"E.

A total of seven Assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra share borders with Hinganghat constituency, which are: Deoli, Wardha, Hingna, Umred, Chimur, Warora, Ralegaon. This constituency shares an inter-state border with .

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Samir Trimbakrao Kunawar of BJP won in this constituency beating Raju Alias Mohan Wasudeorao Timande of NCP by a margin of 50,615 votes which was 26.31% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Kunawar Samir Trambakrao of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Telang Pralay Bhaurao of BSP by a margin of 65,175 votes which was 34.67% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Ashok Shamraoji Shinde of SS won this seat defeating Kunawar Samir Tryambakrao of IND by a margin of 1,421 votes which was 0.86% of the total votes polled for the seat.
