There were a total of 3,07,223 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election in Gadchiroli Assembly constituency, of which 1,54,610 were male, 1,52,610 female and 3 of the third gender. This constituency covers an approximate area of 3676.48 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 19°59'50.6"N 80°06'06.5"E.

A total of five Assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra share borders with Gadchiroli constituency, which are: Brahmapuri, Ballarpur, Rajura, Aheri, Armori. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Mohla-Manpur- Ambagarh Chowki, Kanker districts of Chhattisgarh and Kumurambheem Asifabad district of Telangana.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Dr Deorao Madguji Holi of BJP won in this constituency beating Dr Chanda Nitin Kodwate of INC by a margin of 35,298 votes which was 17.98% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Dr Deorao Madguji Holi of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Atram Bhagyashri Dharmraobaba of NCP by a margin of 51,905 votes which was 31.94% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Dr Namdeo Dalluji Usendi of INC won this seat defeating Ashok Mahadeorao Nete of BJP by a margin of 960 votes which was 0.62% of the total votes polled for the seat.
