A total of seven Assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra share borders with Bhokar constituency, which are: Basmath, Kalamnuri, Hadgaon, Nanded North, Nanded South, Loha, Naigaon. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Nirmal district of Telangana.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Ashokrao Shankarrao Chavan of INC won in this constituency beating Shrinivas Alias Bapusaheb Deshmukh Gorthekar of BJP by a margin of 96,856 votes which was 46.70% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Ameeta Ashokrao Chavan of INC was the winner in this seat beating Kinhalkar Dr Madhavrao Bhujangrao of BJP by a margin of 47,557 votes which was 25.61% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Ashok Shankarrao Chavan of INC won this seat defeating Kinhalkar Dr Madhavrao Bhujangrao of IND by a margin of 1,07,503 votes which was 70.83% of the total votes polled for the seat.
