This constituency covers an approximate area of 802.47 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 21°15'48.6"N 77°39'02.2"E.
A total of four Assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra share borders with Achalpur constituency, which are: Melghat, Morshi, Teosa, Daryapur. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Betul district of Madhya Pradesh.

In 2014, Bacchu Alias Omprakash Babarao Kadu of IND was the winner in this seat beating Ashok Shridharpant Bansod of BJP by a margin of 10,170 votes which was 5.67% of the total votes polled in the constituency.
