In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Sohanlal Balmik of INC won in this seat defeating Tarachand Bawaria of BJP by a margin of 12,734 which was 7.74% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 48.34% in 2018 in this seat.
In 2013, Sohanlal Valmik of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Tarachand Bavariya of BJP by a margin of 6,862 votes which was 4.48% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 47.15% in the seat.
