In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Vijayraghvendra Singh (Basant Singh) of INC won in this seat defeating Moti Kashyap of BJP by a margin of 21,360 which was 12.52% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 49.39% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Moti Kashyap of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Vijay Raghvendra Singh (Basant Singh) of INC by a margin of 3,287 votes which was 2.21% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 41.9% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Moti Kashyap of BJP won this seat beating Geeta Bhagat Kol of INC by a margin of 24,964 votes which was 22.84% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 40.66% in the seat.
