In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Vikas Kumar Munda of JMM won in this constituency beating Ram Durlav Singh Munda of AJSUP by a margin of 30,971 votes which was 21.89% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Vikash Kumar Munda of AJSU was the winner in this seat beating Gopal Krishna Patar of IND by a margin of 26,006 votes which was 19.41% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Gopal Krishna Patar of JDU won this seat defeating Vikas Kumar Munda of AJSU by a margin of 1,471 votes which was 1.65% of the total votes polled for the seat.
