There were a total of 2,22,931 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election in Silli Assembly constituency, of which 1,11,093 were male, 1,11,837 female and 1 of the third gender. Silli comprises of the following areas of Ranchi district in the South Jharkhand region of Jharkhand: Silli police station, Gram Panchayats Barwadag, Tati, Jonha, Kashidih, Merha, Ambajharia and Kontatoli in Angara police station in Ranchi Sadar sub-division; and Sonahatu police station in Khunti sub-division.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 922.89 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 23°15'48.6"N 85°42'58.7"E.

A total of four Assembly constituencies in the state of Jharkhand share borders with Silli constituency, which are: Ramgarh, Khijri, Tamar, Ichagarh. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Purulia district of West Bengal.

In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Sudesh Kumar Mahto of AJSUP won in this constituency beating Seema Devi of JMM by a margin of 20,195 votes which was 12.72% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Amit Kumar of JMM was the winner in this seat beating Sudesh Kumar Mahto of AJSU by a margin of 29,740 votes which was 20.77% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Sudesh Kumar Mahto of AJSU won this seat defeating Amit Kumar of JVM by a margin of 7,707 votes which was 6.58% of the total votes polled for the seat.
