There were a total of 3,65,249 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election in Seraikella Assembly constituency, of which 1,82,111 were male, 1,83,131 female and 7 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 3,37,174 registered voters, of which 1,71,589 were male, 1,65,579 female and 6 from the third gender. Seraikella comprises of the following areas of Seraikella-Kharsawan district in the South Jharkhand region of Jharkhand: Seraikella municipality and Gram Panchayats Govindpur, Pandra, Manik Bazar, Tangrani, Pathanrnara, Jordiha, Gurgudia and Badakakda in Seraikella police station, Rajnagar police station (excluding village 98-Dighi) and Adityapur police station in Seraikella sub-division.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 856.28 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 22°38'44.2"N 86°00'49.0"E.

A total of seven Assembly constituencies in the state of Jharkhand share borders with Seraikella constituency, which are: Ichagarh, Kharasawan, Chaibasa, Majhganon, Potka, Jamshedpur East, Jamshedpur West. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Mayurbhanj district of Odisha.

In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Champai Soren of JMM won in this constituency beating Ganesh Mahali of BJP by a margin of 15,667 votes which was 06.82% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Champai Soren of JMM was the winner in this seat beating Ganesh Mahali of BJP by a margin of 1,115 votes which was 0.53% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Champai Soren of JMM won this seat defeating Laxhman Tudu of BJP by a margin of 3,246 votes which was 2.18% of the total votes polled for the seat.
