In 2014, Rabindra Nath Mahto of JMM was the winner in this seat beating Satya Nand Jha of BJP by a margin of 7,015 votes which was 4.21% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Satyanand Jha of BJP won this seat defeating Rabindra Nath Mahato of JMM by a margin of 3,948 votes which was 3.25% of the total votes polled for the seat.
