This constituency covers an approximate area of 1075.1 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 24°40'06.2"N 87°35'30.1"E.

A total of five Assembly constituencies in the state of Jharkhand share borders with Littipara constituency, which are: Barhait, Pakur, Maheshpur, Shikaripara, Poreyahat. This constituency shares an inter-state border with .

In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Dinesh William Marandi of JMM won in this constituency beating Daniel Kisku of BJP by a margin of 13,903 votes which was 09.64% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Dr Anil Murmu of JMM was the winner in this seat beating Simon Marandi of BJP by a margin of 25,083 votes which was 17.14% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Simon Marandi of JMM won this seat defeating Anil Murmu of INC by a margin of 5,397 votes which was 5.68% of the total votes polled for the seat.
