In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Sammari Lal of BJP won in this constituency beating Suresh Kumar Baitha of INC by a margin of 22,540 votes which was 08.86% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Dr Jitu Charan Ram of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Suresh Kumar Baitha of INC by a margin of 59,804 votes which was 28.78% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Ramchandra Baitha of BJP won this seat defeating Suresh Baitha of INC by a margin of 4,571 votes which was 3.16% of the total votes polled for the seat.
