In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Sona Ram Sinku of INC won in this constituency beating Mangal Singh Bobonga of JVM by a margin of 11,606 votes which was 10.22% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Geeta Kora of JBSP was the winner in this seat beating Mangal Singh Suren of BJP by a margin of 24,611 votes which was 21.72% of the total votes polled in the constituency.
