In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Sabita Mahato of JMM won in this constituency beating Hare Lal Mahato of AJSUP by a margin of 18,710 votes which was 09.51% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Sadhu Charan Mahato of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Sabita Mahato of JMM by a margin of 42,250 votes which was 23.82% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Arvind Kumar Singh of JVM won this seat defeating Bishwa Ranjan Mahato of AJSU by a margin of 17,636 votes which was 12.45% of the total votes polled for the seat.
