A total of two Assembly constituencies in the state of Jharkhand share borders with Hussainabad constituency, which are: Bishrampur, Chattarpur. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Gaya, Aurangabad and Rohtas districts of Bihar.

In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Kamlesh Kumar Singh of NCP won in this constituency beating Sanjay Kumar Singh Yadav of RJD by a margin of 9,849 votes which was 06.01% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Kushwaha Shivpujan Mehta of BSP was the winner in this seat beating Kamlesh Kr Singh of NCP by a margin of 27,752 votes which was 17.92% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Sanjay Kumar Singh Yadav of RJD won this seat defeating Kushwaha Shiv Pujan Mehta of BSP by a margin of 3,563 votes which was 3.14% of the total votes polled for the seat.
