Assembly constituency no.15. Deoghar comprises of the following areas of Deoghar district in the Santhal Parganas region of Jharkhand: Deoghar town and Mohanpur police stations and Jasidih police station (excluding Gram Panchayats Kusmil, Chanddih, Pathra and Basbariya) in Deoghar sub-division.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 697.55 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 24°30'00.4"N 86°42'17.3"E.

A total of four Assembly constituencies in the state of Jharkhand share borders with Deoghar constituency, which are: Poreyahat, Jama, Jarmundi, Madhupur. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Jamui and Banka districts of Bihar.

In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Narayan Das of BJP won in this constituency beating Suresh Paswan of RJD by a margin of 2,624 votes which was 01.13% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Narayan Das of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Suresh Paswan of RJD by a margin of 45,152 votes which was 20.76% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Suresh Paswan of RJD won this seat defeating Baldeo Das of JVM by a margin of 17,740 votes which was 13.02% of the total votes polled for the seat.
