In 2014, Jay Prakash Singh Bhogta of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Satyanand Bhokta of JVM by a margin of 20,576 votes which was 11.31% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Janardan Paswan of RJD won this seat defeating Subedar Paswan of BJP by a margin of 38,555 votes which was 29.15% of the total votes polled for the seat.
