In 2014, Yogeshwar Mahto of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Rajendra Prasad Singh of INC by a margin of 12,613 votes which was 6.74% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Rajendra Prasad Singh of INC won this seat defeating Yogeshwar Mahto of BJP by a margin of 6,611 votes which was 4.71% of the total votes polled for the seat.
