This constituency covers an approximate area of 1,332 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Bastar is: 19°17'35.5"N 82°01'16.0"E.

A total of four Assembly constituencies in the state of Chhattisgarh share borders with Bastar constituency, which are: Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Chitrakot, Jagdalpur. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Nabarangpur district of Odisha.
