In 2016, Debasree Roy of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Kanti Ganguly of CPIM by a margin of 1229 votes which was 0.56% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Debasree Roy of TMC won this seat defeating Kanti Ganguly of CPIM by a margin of 5553 votes which was 2.96% of the total votes polled for the seat.
