In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Joydeb Halder of TMC won in this constituency beating Dilip Kumar Jatua of BJP by a margin of 23492 votes which was 11.88% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Halder Joydeb of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Dr. Sarat Chandra Haldar of CPIM by a margin of 24939 votes which was 13.94% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Jaydeb Haldar of TMC won this seat defeating Dr. Sarat Chandra Halder of CPIM by a margin of 18641 votes which was 11.97% of the total votes polled for the seat.
