According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 84.34%, while it was 85.73% in 2016, and 86.16% in 2011.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Paresh Ram Das of TMC won in this constituency beating Arnab Roy of BJP by a margin of 35243 votes which was 16.37% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Shyamal Mondal of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Arnab Roy of INC by a margin of 18726 votes which was 9.83% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Shyamal Mondal of TMC won this seat defeating Jaydeb Purkait of CPIM by a margin of 19614 votes which was 12.8% of the total votes polled for the seat.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Paresh Ram Das of TMC had a vote share of 51.58% in this seat. In the 2016 Assembly elections, Shyamal Mondal of TMC got a vote share of 49.08% , In the 2011 Assembly elections, Shyamal Mondal of TMC got a vote share of 53.35% in Canning Paschim.
