In the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, Gudem Mahipal Reddy of TRS won in this seat defeating Kata Srinivas Goud of INC by a margin of 37,699 which was 17.61% of the total votes cast for the seat. TRS had a vote share of 54.41% in 2018 in this seat.
