In the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, Ch Malla Reddy of TRS won in this seat defeating Kicchannagari Laxma Reddy of INC by a margin of 87,990 which was 28.91% of the total votes cast for the seat. TRS had a vote share of 54.98% in 2018 in this seat.
