In the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, Hanumanth Rao Mynampally of TRS won in this seat defeating Ramchander Rao Naraparaju of BJP by a margin of 73,698 which was 35.18% of the total votes cast for the seat. TRS had a vote share of 54.49% in 2018 in this seat.
