In the 2019 Sikkim Assembly elections, Sangay Lepcha of SKM won in this constituency beating Dichen Wangchuk Bhutia of SDF by a margin of 79 votes which was 0.67% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Sonam Dadul Bhutia of SDF was the winner in this seat beating Thutop Bhutia of SKM by a margin of 4,218 votes which was 42.53% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Dawcho Lepcha of SDF won this seat defeating Aden Tshering Lepcha of INC by a margin of 4,243 votes which was 51.52% of the total votes polled for the seat.
