In the 2009 Assembly elections, Neeru Sewa of SDF won this seat defeating Jagdish Cintury of INC by a margin of 1,063 votes which was 13.71% of the total votes polled for the seat.

In the 2019 Sikkim Assembly elections, L .B Das of SKM had a vote share of 49.64% in this seat. In 2014, Gopal Baraily of SKM secured a vote share of 52.45% in this constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Neeru Sewa of SDF got a vote share of 53.53% in West Pendam.
