In the 2019 Sikkim Assembly elections, Karma Sonam Lepcha of SDF won in this constituency beating Phurba Tsh. Bhutia of SKM by a margin of 1,069 votes which was 8.48% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Karma Sonam Lepcha of SDF was the winner in this seat beating Pema Kinzang Bhutia of SKM by a margin of 4,456 votes which was 41.47% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Dawa Norbu Takarpa of SDF won this seat defeating Pema Kinzang Bhutia of INC by a margin of 4,293 votes which was 48.47% of the total votes polled for the seat.
