In the 2019 Sikkim Assembly elections, Sanjeet Kharel of SKM won in this constituency beating Birjan Tamang of SDF by a margin of 1,305 votes which was 10.21% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Tilu Gurung of SDF was the winner in this seat beating Prem Singh Tamang of SKM by a margin of 1,155 votes which was 10.46% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Tilu Gurung of SDF won this seat defeating Suk Bdr Tamang of INC by a margin of 3,211 votes which was 35.26% of the total votes polled for the seat.
