In the 2019 Sikkim Assembly elections, Pintso Namgyal Lepcha of SDF won in this constituency beating Chungkipu Lepcha of SKM by a margin of 3,001 votes which was 35.38% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Sonam Gyatso Lepcha of SDF was the winner in this seat beating Dawa Tshering Lepcha of SKM by a margin of 2,175 votes which was 29.99% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Sonam Gyatso Lepcha of SDF won this seat defeating Norden Tshering Lepcha of INC by a margin of 3,937 votes which was 66.2% of the total votes polled for the seat.
