In the 2019 Sikkim Assembly elections, Mingma Norbu Sherpa of SKM won in this constituency beating Pem Norbu Sherpa of SDF by a margin of 336 votes which was 2.65% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Danorbu Sherpa of SDF was the winner in this seat beating Mingma Norbu Sherpa of SKM by a margin of 1,604 votes which was 14.09% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Tenzi Sherpa of SDF won this seat defeating Pem Nuri Sherpa of INC by a margin of 4,700 votes which was 49.81% of the total votes polled for the seat.
