According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 75.09%, while it was 77.59% in 2016, and 80.18% in 2011.

In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, N Rangasamy of AINRC won in this constituency beating K Sethu alias Sethu Selvam of CPI by a margin of 5456 votes which was 23.57% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Ashok Anand of AINRC was the winner in this seat beating K. Sethu @ Sethuselvam of CPI by a margin of 7458 votes which was 31.52% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Ashok Anand of AINRC won this seat defeating N. Arjunan of IND by a margin of 10506 votes which was 48.93% of the total votes polled for the seat.
