This constituency covers an approximate area of 33 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Oussudu is: 11°56'34.4"N 79°43'52.7"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 88.46%, while it was 90.72% in 2016, and 91.58% in 2011.

In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, Ak Sai J Saravanan Kumar of BJP won in this constituency beating P Karthikeyan of INC by a margin of 1880 votes which was 6.59% of the total votes cast. In 2016, E. Theeppainthan of INC was the winner in this seat beating Sai J Saravanan Kumar of BJP by a margin of 2330 votes which was 8.87% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, P. Karthikeyan of AINRC won this seat defeating A. Elumalai of DMK by a margin of 5158 votes which was 22.75% of the total votes polled for the seat.

In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, Ak Sai J Saravanan Kumar of BJP had a vote share of 49.48% in this seat. In the 2016 Assembly elections, E. Theeppainthan of INC got a vote share of 33.02% , In the 2011 Assembly elections, P. Karthikeyan of AINRC got a vote share of 58.78% in Oussudu.
